Wisconsin ProStart® is a high school culinary arts and hospitality management curriculum that ignites students’ passion for the restaurant industry. Wisconsin ProStart is offered in 115+ high schools, training more than 8,400 students annually. It empowers students through training, mentorships, networking, competition and experiential learning opportunities. A highlight of the program each year is the Wisconsin ProStart Invitational, an intense and high-stakes competition where students showcase their culinary talents and management knowledge and receive feedback from the industry’s top professionals. The state culinary and management champions represent Wisconsin at the National ProStart Invitational where they compete against their peers from other states. The Wisconsin Restaurant Association has announced the debut of Cheers to Hospitality, a new event that aims to celebrate the contributions of local restaurants in making our community a better place to live, work and play. Cheers to Hospitality will take place on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Discovery World Museum and will feature a convivial evening of eating and drinking. Even better, all proceeds from the event will go to support the Wisconsin Restaurant Association Education Foundation's initiatives including culinary scholarships, the Wisconsin ProStart Program for high school students and workforce development training. |
