Wisconsin ProStart® is a high school culinary arts and hospitality management curriculum that ignites students’ passion for the restaurant industry. Wisconsin ProStart is offered in 115+ high schools, training more than 8,400 students annually. It empowers students through training, mentorships, networking, competition and experiential learning opportunities. A highlight of the program each year is the Wisconsin ProStart Invitational, an intense and high-stakes competition where students showcase their culinary talents and management knowledge and receive feedback from the industry’s top professionals. The state culinary and management champions represent Wisconsin at the National ProStart Invitational where they compete against their peers from other states. The Wisconsin Restaurant Association has announced the debut of Cheers to Hospitality, a new event that aims to celebrate the contributions of local restaurants in making our community a better place to live, work and play. Cheers to Hospitality will take place on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Discovery World Museum and will feature a convivial evening of eating and drinking. Even better, all proceeds from the event will go to support the Wisconsin Restaurant Association Education Foundation's initiatives including culinary scholarships, the Wisconsin ProStart Program for high school students and workforce development training. This Fall marks the debut of Cheers to Hospitality, a celebration of Milwaukee’s diverse group of exceptional restaurants that provide exemplary service and experiences for their patrons. This event is a celebration of that service and an opportunity for the dining public to show appreciation for all that restaurants do to make our communities and world a better place. This prestigious culinary, wine and spirits event will be held on November 11th from 5:30 – 9:30 pm at Discovery World Museum in Milwaukee. Attendees will enjoy an evening of socializing while sampling mouthwatering gourmet bites crafted by Milwaukee’s most talented chefs - paired with luxurious wines and cocktails. The event features mixology and wine demonstrations and a silent auction of hospitality experiences and items. High school students from the Wisconsin Restaurant Association Education Foundation’s ProStart program will also be on hand to showcase their skills and demonstrate their passion for the restaurant and hospitality industry during live culinary demonstrations. This exclusive event will be limited to 500 guests with a cost of $150 per ticket.
